About
Never in a million years did I ever think I would have a weight problem. I was the girl who could eat whatever she wanted and not gain a pound. Then I had my thyroid removed. Then I turned 40. Things changed. I gained 40 pounds in a very short period of time and I was devastated! It was through this sudden weight gain that I began to take my nutrition and fitness very seriously.
When I was in school to become a Dental Hygienist in 1980 I loved my nutrition class even though it was only one semester.
However, things have really changed since then!
I got on the internet, read a lot of books on diet and nutrition and soon found that I was talking more about food to my dental patients than anything else. I knew that nutrition can greatly impact one’s dental and overall health, but did not feel qualified to give concrete advice. I decided that I really needed more education to back up my recommendations, so I decided to attend the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I received my training to practice Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone, and raw foods. However, my specialty is Eat to Live.
I am certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and am currently in the second year Immersion program at IIN.
I lost the weight and you can to!!!
